Internship Opportunities at Madison's CW

Madison’s CW, the new #1 network among women 18-34, and home to such programs as Gossip Girl, the new 90210, America’s Next Top Model, Family Guy, The Office and more.  Madison’s CW is in a growth mode and it’s an exciting time for the station. 

 

Madison’s CW wants to provide a motivated individual an opportunity to learn more about the ins and outs of a television station, especially the sales/marketing/promotional side of the business.  If you have always wanted to be in show business, then the opportunity we have available may be for you.

 

Information:

This is not a paid position. All internships require a minimum of 10-15 hours per week covering a period of 10-16 weeks, depending on the school's quarter or semester length.  Interns are expected to dress appropriately for the business world while interning at Madison's CW. 

 

Interested students must be registered at a University, College, Community College or Vocational-Technical Institute.  To be considered, intern applicants should have junior or senior status, or be in the last year of a Community College or Vocational-Technical program.  Students must be sponsored and receive academic credit. (1 credit hour)

 

Students will augment their classroom experience through participation in various business and news projects.  Madison's CW will provide one-on-one training and extensive supervision.  This internship is solely a learning experience and is no guarantee of future employment at WBUW.

  

Available Internships:

 

*****Sales Promotion and Marketing ******

 

This Internship will be developing client proposals, creating marketing presentations, assisting with new business development, television promotions, marketing research, and helping with event management.

 

Experience with some web design or graphic arts is a plus.

 

Qualifications:

Strong persuasion skills, strong interpersonal skills, and a self-motivating attitude.

 

Computer Skills needed:

MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, Adobe Illustrator

****Creative Services:  Promotion and News*****

 

This internship will give students a complete hands-on learning experience in the overall promotion of Madison's CW. Interns will assist producers in the creation and development of promotions  including web updates, editing spots and setting up shoots.  Additionally, interns will be asked to help with special station events, go on location shoots, and sharing general office duties.  

 

Qualifications: 

Must demonstrate good interpersonal and writing skills.

Excellent attention to detail

 

Computer Skills needed:

Final Cut Pro experience is required.  Adobe After Effects experience is a plus.
